Corporate Matching - Doubling the Impact of your Gift

Many companies offer matching gift and volunteer grant programs to help employees multiply their impact. By taking advantage of these opportunities, your donation to Mt. Si Senior Center can go even further — often doubling or even tripling the difference you make for local seniors.

Why Corporate Giving Matters
These programs represent a powerful connection between employees, their employers, and the causes that matter most. When companies invest alongside their staff, it shows a shared commitment to building stronger, healthier communities. For Mt. Si Senior Center, that partnership means we can plan ahead with confidence, expand essential services, and respond quickly when seniors need support the most.

Important Matching Gift Tips & Guidelines
  • Check with HR
Every company’s program is different. Confirm details like minimum donation amounts, match ratios, and deadlines with your employer’s HR or benefits department.
  • Deadlines Matter
Some companies give you 30 days, others until January 31 or even 12 months after your donation. Don’t miss the window — submit your match request as soon as you give.
  • Minimums & Maximums
Many employers set a minimum donation (often $25–$50) and a maximum match cap (commonly $1,000–$15,000 per year). Plan your giving to maximize the match.
  • Volunteer Hour Grants
Do you volunteer at Mt. Si Senior Center? Some companies will donate money for your time — typically $10–$25 per hour, or lump sums once you reach a certain number of hours.
  • Spouses, Retirees, and Part-Time Employees
Many programs extend eligibility to retirees, spouses, and part-time staff. It’s worth checking — your family’s gifts might qualify too.
  • Double Up with Events & Year-End Giving
Gifts made at special events or year-end campaigns often still qualify for a match. Save your receipt and submit it!
  • Keep Records Handy
Have your donation receipt and Mt. Si Senior Center’s nonprofit EIN (#91-1009149) ready — this is usually required for submission.
  • Don’t Forget Stock or Donor-Advised Fund Gifts
Many companies will still match gifts given through stock donations or donor-advised funds (DAFs). Ask if yours does.

Lastly, when in doubt, ask your HR team, or email  [email protected] and we’ll help you through the process.
