September: Celebrating Senior Center Month — Why Giving to MSSC Matters More Than Ever

For many older adults, a senior center is more than a building. It’s the place where they share a hot meal, take a class that keeps them active, and find a friend who listens. This is the heart of Senior Center Month each September: honoring the rich value senior centers bring to communities everywhere.

Senior centers have shaped lives for more than 80 years, beginning with the first formal center in 1943. Today, more than 11,000 centers nationwide serve over 1 million older adults every day with meals, wellness programs, and social connection. Here in the Snoqualmie Valley, nearly 1 in 4 residents is over 60, and hundreds of seniors come through Mt. Si Senior Center’s doors each month for all of our programs and services.

But the need is outpacing resources. Rising costs and uncertain funding mean MSSC must look to the community for stable support. That’s why we’re leading the charge with the Evergreen Circle, our monthly giving program. Recurring gifts —whether $1, $25, $50, or $500— provide the steady foundation we need to keep our doors open, our lights on, and our programs thriving.

Senior Center Month is a celebration, but it’s also a call to action. Seniors can’t wait. They need us now more than ever. This September, the best way to honor Senior Center Month is by joining the Evergreen Circle—your monthly gift ensures the work we celebrate today continues long into the future.

Join the Evergreen Circle Today

Will you take your place in the Evergreen Circle and make sure every Valley senior has a place to belong—not just today, but for years to come?
