Think your chili is the G.O.A.T.? Prove it. Proud of your vintage ride? Bring it. Love this community? Show up, taste, and vote at Mt. Si Senior Center’s Car Show & Chili Cook-Off.

Save the Date: Friday, September 19, 2025
Where: Mt. Si Senior Center — 411 Main Avenue South - North Bend, WA
When: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Who: Whole community invited — family‑friendly, all ages

What’s Happening: 

Chili Cook‑Off
Individuals, teams, and community groups are invited. Bragging rights and the Chili G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) title are on the line.

Chili Cook‑Off — Contestant Rules
Eligibility & Entry
  • Open to ages 16+ (youth teams may enter with an adult lead).
  • Registration deadline: Friday, September 12 (or when slots fill).
  • No entry fee. We ask each team to bring 2–3 gallons of chili.
What to Bring
  • Your chili hot and ready to serve in crockpots or chafing dishes (electric preferred).
  • Extension cord (25–50 ft) and power strip (limited outlets available).
  • Ladle, serving gloves, and a food thermometer.
  • A simple ingredient list and allergen labels (e.g., dairy, nuts, gluten).
  • Optional: simple table décor/sign with team
We Provide
  • 6‑ft table space, sample cups, spoons, napkins, ballots, water station, trash/recycling.
Food Safety
  • Keep hot foods at 140°F / 60°C or above; reheat to 165°F if needed.
  • No raw/undercooked meats; avoid home‑canned ingredients.
  • Hand hygiene/gloves while serving; hair tied back.
Serving & Voting
  • Sample size: ~2 oz cups.
  • Public votes for People’s Choice by ballot

Classic Car Show
Shine up your classics, customs, hot rods, and special interest vehicles. Limited display parking; first‑come, first‑park after roll‑in opens.

Car Show — Display Guidelines
  • All years of vintage & classic welcome; special‑interest and hot rods encouraged.

Donations
  • Chili Judges and Tasters: $5 Taste Pass for unlimited chili samples (while supplies last).
  • Car Show Entrants & Chili Teams: Free to enter; donations appreciated.
  • All proceeds benefit Mt. Si Senior Center’s meals, transportation, wellness, affordable housing, and social connection programs.

Event Timeline
  • Chili Enthusiasts and Car Show Roll‑Ins:  2:30–3:30 PM
  • Festivities Begin: 4:00 PM
  • Public Chili Tasting: 4:30–5:30 PM
  • Awards: 5:45 PM
  • Rain or Shine: Covered tasting area; dress for weather.
