Why Giving Tuesday and Year-End Gifts matters here at home?

11/23/2025

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity and the beginning of our Year-End Giving season, but for us it’s very local. Together, they help Mt. Si Senior Center step into a new year on solid ground, ready to say “yes” when a senior needs help.

Across the country, many older adults go days or even weeks without seeing a friend. Isolation is tied to higher risks of heart disease, depression, dementia, and early death. Here in the Snoqualmie Valley, we see the human side of those numbers every day. Mt. Si Senior Center exists to change that story.

Social services are expensive and community is priceless.  That’s where Mt. Si Senior Center comes in. When you give on Giving Tuesday or during the Year-End Giving season, you provide:
  • A hot, healthy lunch in a room where people know your name
  • Rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, and the center
  • Fitness classes, activities, and support groups that keep people moving and connected
  • Affordable senior housing and a safe place to belong

For many, this is the difference between being alone and being part of a community.

How your gift launches 2026This day of giving does more than help for one Tuesday. It powers the very start of 2026 and our busiest winter months. Your donation helps us:
  • Cover food and transportation costs when needs are highest
  • Keep doors open, lights on, and programs running during the darkest days of the year
  • Welcome new members in January who may be walking through our doors for the first time
  • Answer, “Yes, we can help,” when a neighbor calls and doesn’t know where else to turn

Those early bills are real: food, gas, utilities, staff, and program supplies. Your Giving Tuesday and Year-End Giving gifts go straight to work for real people in this community.

If this valley has shaped your life, or if someone you love has found connection here, this is a beautiful moment to give back. Your gift helps us begin 2026 strong and ensures local seniors know they are seen, valued, and surrounded by community.

Give today and keep Mt. Si seniors rooted in community. 🌲💚
